How to Make Money as a Homeschooling Kid!

Teach your young learners how to budget, run a business, earn money and how to spend it!

Calling all young entrepreneurs! But wait...how do you know if your child has the entrepreneurial spirit?

Here are 6 characteristics to look for:

  1. They are creative and have problem-solving skills.
  2. Your child does not conform to social norms.
  3. Your child thinks outside the box and learns from doing so.
  4. They can be very persuasive.
  5. They are more likely to take a risk.
  6. They show signs of leadership.

So how do you allow their skills to flourish? Here are 6 tips for setting your young entrepreneur up for success:

  1. Stop buying them things! Instead, encourage them to make and use their OWN money.
  2. Teach them how to budget.
  3. Enroll them in an online course on how to create a business plan, price products and market their business. Such as Beauty & Business or Young Entrepreneur's Business Plan
  4. Give them real-life experiences.
  5. Allow them to fail. This is sometimes the greatest teacher and allows children to naturally pivot by solving problems.
  6. Give them opportunities to sell and don't interfere. Allow your child to sell completely independent of an adult. An adult can be nearby watching with pride from the shadows.

The Young Business Owners (YBO) program educates and empowers children (ages 4-17) to become successful entrepreneurs. Our tailored online courses provide the necessary skills and knowledge for young business owners to thrive. Participants gain hands-on experience by selling their products at our unique markets, paired with community events to attract patrons. This online education and hands-on learning prepares children for entrepreneurship, fostering future business leaders. It's only $20 for YBO participants to get a 10x10 booth at one of our patron filled events. They also get access to online classes for free with participation.
