Hello students and parents. Welcome to my classroom. I’m Ms. Lisa.
I have been in education for over twenty-five years and have had the privilege of teaching children both domestically and internationally. I started teaching high school English after receiving my degree from UCLA, but I later enjoyed home schooling my own children from kindergarten -12th grade! They’re all in college now but my homeschool and teaching days continue as I’ve been an online teacher since 2016.
Teaching kids is a Work of Heart, and I like to make lessons and learning fun for all of my students, from 3-years old to 17- years old. In all of my years of teaching, it has been a joy to teach my students how to read, write, and do math! I enjoy working with children and developing an appreciation for learning new things in a new way. There’s great joy when I see my students succeed! The moment a child sounds out a word for the first time, or reads a sentence on their own, or independently writes a 5-paragraph essay, brings great joy to both teacher and student! My goal is to make learning concepts a FUNdamental and rewarding experience.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy watching movies and playing board games with my family, reading, painting, and taking my dog Cody on long walks. I’ve been married for 29 years, and my husband and I share a passion for ministry and God’s word! How sweet it is to teach on a platform that gives students an academic advantage alongside Bible Truths!
As it is was for my own children growing up and teaching them, my desire for your student comes from 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
It is an honor to teach kids from all cultures and all ages, and I’m excited to teach your child. Thank you for considering me as your child's teacher. I hope to see them in my classroom in the near future.
Blessings,
Ms. Lisa
