Let's get together and practice the art of written communication through letter writing! This self-paced class is comprised of six lessons walking learners step-by-step through how to write individual and custom letters for different occasions using either templates provided or self-supplied paper.
Through fun instructional videos, the teacher will introduce and demonstrate the structure and format of a letter, including:
Date
Salutation
Body
Closing
Signature
The teacher will suggest options of content to include, as well as offer some samples for writing inspiration. Learners are encouraged to follow along, pausing to fill in each section in turn with their own original, custom content. For some letters, learners may want to know beforehand the recipient and the reason for their letter. Learners are encouraged to interact with each other by uploading and sharing their completed letters in the classroom.
Templates are provided for use in writing letters, but learners can also use their own: plain or lined paper, stationery, cards, etc. A separate template and video will also be provided to demonstrate formatting for envelopes, but in order to keep student information confidential, learners are asked to not share them in class.
Learners should already know how to write independently, and will need something to write with, something to write on, and optionally something to color/draw with.
