Read word families, digraphs and blends, solve math problems to find our "sentence of the week" and participate in one science experiment per week.
This is a Flex course meaning that it is flexible for any schedule or time zone. There are no live classes, instead, each week there will be interactive games and quizzes where learners can complete with each other to get the best or fastest score. There are also a series of video lessons that can be viewed, paused or studied over and over again. We will be sharing our worksheets, science journals, homework, MadLib stories, pictures and videos in our interactive online classroom. All of the science lessons come with a science journal, supply list and step-by-step instructions to follow along with us at home. Every week learners will practice adding and subtracting our puzzles to decode our "sentence of the week". This also encourages handwriting, spelling and reading with the fun of trying to solve the puzzle. We will be practicing different word families each week that can be two to six letter words. Students will naturally learn about rhyming with our word families. I will also share optional homework worksheets that correspond with our lessons.

Lastly, MadLibs, handwriting and math worksheets for homework. My teaching style is often fun, lively and entertaining as possible. I use props, my whiteboard, puppets, magnets and silly voices. I have four children myself and realize that online learning needs to be extra lively to gain young learners attention. That being said, if you are new to online learning, be patient and give it some time for learners to get into the swing of things. I also recommend sitting with them for at least the first couple lessons to help them become engaged. I love hearing from and responding to learners all throughout the course.
