In this 12-week learning course students will have access to key kindergarten curriculum such as: Telling time, identifying American money, skip counting, phonics, CVC words, shapes, science, sights words, several online games, quizzes and more.
Welcome to kindergarten online!
WEEKS 1-4: Telling time, identifying American money, sight words and ABC phonics review. I will also share some of my favorite skip counting YouTube videos. Includes several games and quizzes corresponding with our lessons.
WEEKS 5-8: Sight words, planets, oceans, continents, CVC phonics blending, opposites, days of the week, months of the year and seasons. Includes several games and quizzes corresponding with our lessons.
WEEKS 9-12: Fractions, complex shapes, adding, subtracting, sight words, CVC reading and review. Includes several games and quizzes corresponding with our lessons.
Participation expectations: Weeks 1-4 - First - there is a question at the end of each video. Learners have the opportunity to answer the question and/or participate in show-and-tell. Second - Learners can pick a letter or number from my classroom whiteboard. Third - Behind each letter is a picture of a delicious cake prize for them. They must tell me how many coins they need to purchase their cake. I will share their cake surprise by personalized video each week! :)
Weeks 5-12 - In addition to the weekly lessons, I sometimes provide optional worksheets, crafts, STEM and STEAM projects. Includes several games and quizzes corresponding with our lessons.
The flexible schedule allows your younger learners to watch the videos and do the activities at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a time that is convenient to them to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson on Monday mornings (1-5 short videos per week for 12 weeks). I will also share my favorite supplemental YouTube videos. I do not screen share, instead I will use books, singing and many props to engage learners. Students should be prepared to watch the videos with paper and writing/coloring utensils.
